South America is listed as being 6,890,000 square miles in area. There are 5,280 feet in a mile, so there are 27,878,400 square feet in a square mile. That means that South America is mroe or less 19,208,217,600,000 square feet.

I say "more or less" because there will be approximations made when calculations are made in miles and these would have huge implications for the number of feet. As even being 1 square mile out would mean a difference of almost 30 million square feet.... imagine if each country submitted figures which were oout by 10 or 20 square miles... the difference between my "estimate" and reality would be immense.

South America is majority in the Southern Hemisphere. It has a population of about 387.5 million people as dated in 2011. South America has 6.888 million sq. miles.
