If all who are of working age are in positions that are respectable then there will be no problems occuring within the famiy. If however a member may be in some dubious

activity which is know by the family and neighbors, the reflection falls upon that family member or all of the family. In other words the action of one may paint the whole family with the same brush.

Yes your income level affects how people see you in general. Some people only care about material things. Sometimes money decides what you will do for a living, some people cant afford to go to college and then have to do something they wouldn't want to do. I wouldn't really worry about it though
