Assuming that you are asking about biological plants, and not factories: some plants are poisonous to humans, or contain compounds that may be processed into poisons. Also, some plants may overwhelm their environments, even if they are otherwise harmless, causing serious problems with agriculture. This would happen with plants that are brought, accidentally or intentionally, from other countries or other parts of the country, or when 'sophisticated' chemicals are put into the soil, leading to adaptation by the unwanted plants followed by a worse infestation than existed initially. It could also happen when unwanted plants adapt to changes in genetically engineered crop plants, allowing them to once again threaten the crops.

This is a rather generic question (i.e. what plant?) but here are some ideas:

Too much sun if it prefers dappled sunlight to shade.

Too little sun if it prefers full sun and it's planted where it gets too much shade.

Insects can kill a plant.

Hard water (some) can stunt to kill a plant.

Too much or too little water can kill a plant, depending upon its needs.

Extreme cold can kill plants if they are not cold-hardy and visa-versa.

Herbivorous insects; so aphids, planthoppers, herbivorous beetles, caterpillars etc. They can devour entire plants in little time, or weaken them to the point of death (aphids suck sap that acts as the plant's 'blood').
