They are basically the same. They have mostly the same parts except that the plant cell has the things that make sun light into energy and an extra cell wall surrounding it.

They are also alike because they both have a membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm.

Both are eukaryotic cells, which means they are larger cells that contain a nuclear membrane. They both have mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, DNA, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum and nucleus. they both also go through cellular respiration.

One of the clearest similarities is that both plants and animals are eukaryotes, meaning that they have membrane bound organelles contained within their cells. Many of these organelles are present and quite similar in both plant and animal cells. They both possess a nucleus, rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus and mitochondria to name a few. As well, other similarities include the fact that both plant and animal cells are filled with cytoplasm, wrap their DNA around histones to form chromosomes, and possess a cell membrane composed of a phospholipid bi-layer.
