It happened b/c Pakistan and America were mad at each other and Osama bin Laden wanted to get back at America. To get back at us he flew planes into the 1st and 2nd world trade buildings or the twin towers. Also the pentagon, he flew one into a field in Pennsylvania, and tried to fly one into the White House.
