Try running an algaecide through the system as well as shocking it. Algae wouldn't be the problem, it doesn't happen that quick. You have introduced chlorine too early and have corroded the metasl. Next time, filter for 2 days without chlorine, then introduce it slowly.
I try and shock my pool every other day, or, if it rains, shock it at night after it rains (never during rain).
When electrical energy is added to water it creates electric shock.
Not likely
3800 gals of pool water shock it with 1 gal bleach
nope but yo mama does
The shock will work better if the pH was within the correct range, but get the shock in asap, then do the pH.
Pool Shock
Shock it with chlorine shock at the rate of 1lb per 10kgal.
If you do not want to do complex calculations, you can use non-chlorine shock which is Potassium Monopersulfate. It comes in one pound packages. Throw in 1 lb every two weeks if it is a lightly used pool, 2LB every two weeks if it is a heavier used pool. 3LB if you regularly pee in the pool.
Although one bag of shock does treat usually 10,00 gallons, that is assuming a clear pool to start with. Since you had an algae infestation, more shock will be required. A simple rule of thumb is when treating problem water to double or even triple shock the pool. Simply put, there wasn't enough shock there to finish the job. Test your water for chorine. Most shocks are chlorine based. If your chlorine is low or zero, it will confirm the need for more shock.
Add clarifying chemicals and turn the pump back on.
