Recall then that you have received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God's presence. Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts.
However usually you can't feel something special, you are donated with special grace of Holy Spirit, moreover you are donated with The Holy Spirit himself. This means, that from now on he will help you and guide you. You need to use faith to see, that He is helping you every day. You can pray to him for help, especially when you need to decide about something. Just say Him that you want to do something in the way that is OK with God's will, and you ask Him for help, or something like that. Don't use my words exactly as i wrote them - spontaneous prayer is better, and underlines the meaning of prayer as relationship and conversation, not the empty ritual or mindless repeating i.e. Hailmarys. I don't mean that you don't have to use Hail Mary, Rosary, Lord's prayer etc. NO! Use them, they are OK, and helps much, but if you want to ask for something, just say it as you would do it to your close friend/dad/mum etc.

From this fact [ 1302 . . .that the effect of the Sacrament of Confirmation is a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost], Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace:
-it roots us more deeply in the divine filiation which makes us cry, "ABBA! Father!"; (Rom 8:15)
-it unites us more firmly to Christ;
-it increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us;
-it renders our bond with the Church more perfect; (Cf. Lumen Gentium 11)
-it gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross: (Cf. Council of Florence {1439}: Denzinger-Schönmetzer, Enchiridion Symbolorum, definitionum et declarationum de rebus fidei et morum {1965} 1319; Lumen Gentium 11; 12)

AnswerEffects of Confirmation on our Christian lives are that it fills us with the Holy Spirit, which helps us become closer to God. Confirmation gives us sanctifying grace. It strengthens and renews our Baptism. It cannot be renewed. Confirmation helps us look at the Church and helps us understand the way the Church works. It helps us see the way to Jesus and points to the direction he wants us to go.Confirmation signals your invitation to the Holy Spirit to enter your life. It may not seem to do anything at all, at first. In fact, there is no particular emotion guaranteed to occur in you. But the Holy Spirit always leads us closer to God. However, do not expect to feel particularly overjoyed, ecstatic, etc. Confirmation is simply a rite, not your relationship with the Holy Spirit.
