NO! You will hear all kinds of crazy things to help induce labor, but babies come when they are ready. The only things that are helpful are walking and sexual intercourse. The reason for this is because the product that the hospitals use to "ripen the cervix" is prostaglandin, which is the same thing in sperm. So... good luck!

∙ 13y agoi went a week over due with my first child, at around 39-40 weeks everyone told me to try that, so. I did and yuck not only was it a horrible experience, but contractions never started, and I felt horrible afterwards. A week later the doctor induced my labor.
I wouldn't recommend castor oil to anyone.
