Typically, consuming both past moderation will produce an altered state of consciousness you call drunk. However, there are two stages of alcohol intoxication. The first, often referred to as the BUZZ- Is the euphoric onset. The second is a physical impairment stage where the consumer is generally numb and mentally impaired .The alcohol contained in beer and spirits is the same, the only difference is the concentration. Time is also a factor. The more you consume in a lesser amount of time will increase both the euphoric onset and the physical impairment. Obviously the higher concentration of the vodka will increase the noticeable effects of alcohol intoxication due to the liver's inability to metabolize the vodka's higher quantity of alcohol, (40% alcohol) VS. the average quantity of alcohol in beer, (5 %).
In other words- VODKA - on total volume.
Vodka contains much more alcohol than beer. However, standard servings of beer, wine and distilled spirits (vodka, gin, whiskey, tequila, etc.) contain the same amount of alcohol (0.60 oz). It's called alcohol equivalence.

there are many exceptions because rum has a range, beer has a range, but general something of this order weakest to strongest beer<wine<champagne<rum<vodka<whiskey<brandy<tequila<151<absinthe<moonshine I may have a couple mixed, but from my experience that's about the order
Ketel One, Svedka, or my personal favorite Sobieski are incredible vodkas. So I would say vodka is better than rum. But, there are some good rums out there. Vodka is just smoother and more versatile than rum.
It depends on your size or weight, the bigger you are, the more beer you can drink while remaining sober.
Smirnoff Ice has a similar alcohol content to most beers. Smirnoff vodka has far more alcohol than any beer.

Not by volume, but one beer is the same as one drink for determining your sobriety. One drink's worth of beer is 12 ounces (one can/bottle), while one drink's worth of liquor is 1.5 ounces (one shot). And some beers are stronger than others, as much as 4 times. Beer also has more calories, thats why models drink vodka, it gets you drunk faster and not fat.
