Marine Recon (Battalion and Force) definitely do Special Operation Missions just like any other special operations group such as SEAL, Green Beret, Ranger, Para-rescuer, Navy Combat Diver, SAS, etc.
Of course all of these different units train for different functions, hence the reason why they are not the same force, and often perform JTF (Joint Task Force) operations, in order to provide trained teams in all necessary fields.
Originally Force Recon, they are now known as Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC).
The only watecraft the Air Force has are the ones that Special Forces uses for recovery and Rescue missions.
Delta Force is officially known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta. They do go on missions, however, their missions are classified, which is why you don't hear about them.

You're comparing apples and oranges. Special Forces is one distinct function of the Army (though the Marine Corps now does have units under the jurisdiction of SOCOM), whereas the Marine Corps is an entire branch of the service.
MARSOC was established on Feb 24 2006 and is part of USSOCOM, United States Special Operations Command. MARSOC is 1 of the 5 Special Forces part of SOCOM. AFSOC, ASOC, MARSOC, NAVSPECWARCOM, JSOC MARSOC trains, organizes, equips, and when directed by CDRUSSOCOM deploys organized Marine Special Operation Forces worldwide in support of combatant commanders and other agencies. As far as I know Marine Force Recon is separate of SOCOM, but prior to FEB 2006 most current MARSOC team members were part of Force Recon. Force Recon members are highly trained scouts that provide Intelligence and Reconnaissance.
It is unknown what the main mission Delta Forces gone on. The Delta Force goes on many of missions.
The primary special operations force of the USMC is simply known as MARSOC, the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command. Also known as Force Recon from their historic origins as an elite Marine unit that wasn't attached to the Special Forces, it is not as well known as the Army Rangers and Navy SEALs becuase it is a relatively new outfit, established in 2006. Unlike Force Recon, MARSOC was established as a full member of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) so as to coordinate an increased need for joint special operations and counter-terrorism.
Yes, the Marine Corps utilizes the Total Force concept by effectively and efficiently employing both active duty and reserve Marines to execute missions. This approach allows for the flexible use of personnel and resources, ensuring a well-rounded and capable force. The Total Force concept enhances the readiness and effectiveness of the Marine Corps in fulfilling its mission requirements.
The U.S. Army have the U.S. Army Rangers and U.S. Army Special Forces more commonly know as the Green Berets and the U.S. Marine Corps have Recon Marines (split into Divison Recon and Force Recon), who are special forces-capable, and MARSOC, which is their contribution to SOCOM (Special Operations Command)and are up their with Navy SEALs, U.S. Army Special Forces, and Air Force Pararescue.
The Marine Corps fields specialized forces known as Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs) that can be deployed outside of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF). MEUs are versatile, expeditionary forces that include ground, aviation, and logistics elements, capable of conducting a range of operations including humanitarian assistance, crisis response, and combat missions. They are designed to provide a rapid and flexible response to emerging global crises.
Nobody did (at least not officially) the USMC aren't even Special Forces, the most elite Fighting Force in the USA is either Delta Force or the Navy SEALS, but most experts say the two British special forces groups SAS and SBS are the most elite fighting forces in the world. USMC are a large and well trained force but nothing really special, whoever said they were the worlds best was clearly very uninformed.
