Whenever theres a problem with ur iPod touch
restore it in dfu mode
(hold power button for 3 seconds, then power and home button for 10 seconds.leave the power button, and keep pressing the home button for 25 seconds.
then iTunes will detect your ipod touch in recovery mode, restore it with itunes.
First i though that the warranty could be gone, my friend just restored his jailbroken iphone, and got it replaced.
Dont worry about it.
Just restore with dfu mode in itunes.

∙ 14y agoYes it will void the warranty. Although it voids the warranty it is not illegal to jailbreak it. Or as i like to put it: freeing your iTouch from greedy Apple who wants you to get/buy only their "approved" apps...

∙ 14y agoYes. Jailbreaking your iPod immediately voids the warranty of your device. Even if you remove the jailbreak from your iPod, Apple may still be able to detect the device has been jailbroken previously if you send it in for repair. They will refuse to repair it for free.

∙ 11y agoIf you go by Best Buys Warranty, it will void it , if the people there know how to recognize it, every best buy is different, they go on their own terms, just do a restore if problems arise, and set it up as a new ipod, if you back it p from an old backup it might put some of the jailbreaks old files onto it, so be safe if you jailbreak, full restore from itunes, not the erase all settings in the ipods settings. most times they will replace/fix the ipod. i have replaced multiple idevices that have been jailbroken and everything went fine.
