Health insurance will not pay for this type of procedure. The procedure is elective and therefore it will not be covered by health insurance. I know some people who have had it and they always had to pay for it themselves.

Cost of medical procedure without insurance?

Ask your physician what the cash price is for the procedure. Sometimes you can get a discount when you pay cash. You save the doctor's office from having to file with an insurance company for payment.

Does insurance cover a colposcopy?

I recently had to have a colposcopy done. My insurance will not cover the procedure under regular doctor visits because they consider it a surgical procedure and I will have to first pay $500 out of pocket. Most colposcopies do not cost $500, so I ended up having to pay for the whole thing. I have Humana insurance. I know most insurance companies do cover them, however you will want to check with the insurance company on what your deductible will be since most of them consider it a surgical procedure.

If a doctor sends you for a procedure that is not covered by insurance how can you get your insurance company to pay for it?

you can ask your doctor to write a letter of medical neccesity and even ask for an alternate benefit if one is available for the procedure. However, if it is stated in your benefits handbook that it is not a covered expense, you more than likely are wasting your time and the insurance company will not pay.

If insured by your employer and your spouse's employer which is the primary insurance?

Your insurance through your employer is your primary insurance, and your spouse's primary insurance is through his/her employer. If both husband and wife are insured on both insurance policies, then you have primary and secondary coverage. But you will still have to pay any deductibles and co-pays before either policy will pay. The deductible is the amount you first have to pay (usually at the first of the year) before the insurance will pay anything. The co-pay is your percentage of what the insurance doesn't pay, which for many health insurance companies is 80% for them and 20% for you. There is sometimes a co-insurance that you have to pay also. Ex: Insurance companies have a set amount that they pay for any office visit, procedure, etc. If the bill is over what the insurance pays, then you are responsible for the balance.

Tummy tucks and when will insurance pay?

A tummy tuck is a cosmetic procedure, so it's unlikely that insurance will ever pay. Maybe, maybe if you've lost so much weight that you have a fold that hangs over and gives you a rash.

Gastric Bypass Price Depends On Procedure, Insurance?

Morbid obesity is a life-threatening disorder, so some insurance companies will pay for the procedure. If your insurance will cover some or most of the cost, your total cost will be greatly reduced. If your insurance will not cover the surgery, or you do not have surgery, some doctors will finance patients with approved credit. Without insurance, the total cost can be from $20,000 to $35,000. Gastric bypass price depends on which procedure is best for you, your doctor and your location.

Does medical insurance have to pay bill even if you cancel after procedure?

Yes, the insurer will pay for your care as long as you had coverage on the date of the surgery. It does not matter that in the month after the surgery, you ended your coverage.
