Yes, if it is the liquid. I have clothes with blue splotches on them from the fabric softener.
It makes clothes softer, hence the name fabric softener :)
yes. else the fabric will become hards as the softener dries out
There is no such thing as HE fabric softener and its not needed.
yes, you can! a fabric softener makes the fabric softer, and decreases wrinkling, as well as inhibiting static buildup,or static cling. but it is not necessary to use fabric softener if the aforementioned issues do not bother you(wrinkles, static).
Run a HOT water cycle with a cup of bleach but, with NO clothes in it.

The best way to remove a fabric softener stain is to wet the stain, and then rub it with a regular bar of soap. Complete the stain removal process by rewashing the garment in the hottest water that is still safe for the fabric.
Mainly to prevent wrinkling and soften clothes
No, a fabric softener sheet can not be used indefinitely. After one or two uses, it will lose its scent and ability to keep clothes soft and free of static.

Tequila can stain your clothes. It is a tannin stain, so it does not actually dye the fabric. This makes it easy to wash away in hot water.

It will tell you on the back of the bottle, usually it is in the final rinse cycle. It is kinda tricky using fabric softener, if you pour it directly on your clothes or even don't mix it with the water good enough first it will leave greasy looking spots on your clothes. I stop my washer right before the final rinse, take my clothes out, let the fabric softener and water mix really good then add my clothes back in.
There is no need to make a cationic softener, or fabric softener. Vinegar and baking soda are both a easy, cheap way to soften clothes, brighten colors and cut back static.
