I can tell you from experience that yes, you can have brown spotting and NOT be pregnant. I've chalked it up to my body just doing it's natural thing...essentially "cleaning house" when it needs to. I personally don't notice any increase/decrease in mood swings or lethargy during that time. It's extremely annoying, yes, and sometimes you can help it along by doucheing (although I wouldn't do this often...it does disrupt the natural flora of your vagina.) good luck!

You need a pregnancy test to know if you are pregnant. Spotting brown is simply old blood and not a determining factor of pregnancy.

Answer: It could just be your period

No it doesnt, It just mean it's old blood..

Yes. Brownish discharge two days before one's period does not definitively confirm pregnancy.

If you have spotting a day before your period is due you have never had spotting before could you be pregnant?

I might be 2months pregnant I'm having brown spotting off and on please tell me what's going on?

Hi. If you are pregnant, you need to see your Doctor or go to hospital to make certain you are not pregnant. Brown spotting can occur during early pregnancy and is usually harmless, but it is always best to be certain. If you are not pregnant, the brown spotting may be a urinary tract infection or a yeast infection, from recently stopping/starting birth control pills, recently taking morning after pill or due to your period about to arrive.
