This is a direct consequence of Ohms Law.

Since each new resistor connected in parallel will allow more current to flow, the resistance of the circuit must be lower. R = E/I. Since I (current) has increased, and the voltage E is still the same, it follows that R (resistance) must be smaller.

That's the way Ohms Law works.

to answer this question correctly or to make this question with sense, i have to rephrase it to:

Why did the equivalent total resistance of a parallel circuit decreases by adding an additional parallel resistor?

the answer is: the more the resistors are connected in parallel manner the more the total current is drawn from the supply which it branches in every resistors within the circuit, so by following the Electrical Engineers Universal Guide which is the Ohms Law, this will prove that the current is inversely proportional to the resistance by letting the voltage as constant... (current = voltage/resistance) but actually, you did not decreased the resistance physically (because you added an additional resistor) what you did is you added a resistor in parallel to make your total resistance electrically smaller...

Adding more resistors in series to a particular parallel branch will increase the total resistance, but adding another branch will decrease it.

1/R_total = 1/R_1 + 1/R_2 + ... + 1/R_N

Resistors in parallel add using the equation Rtotal = 1 / (1/R1 + 1/R2 + ... + 1/Rn). Therefore, by adding more resistors in parallel, the resistance of the whole system decreases.

One way to think of it is like lines at a supermarket on a busy day. The lines get more backed up if there are only a few cash registers open. If you open more registers, the lines get shorter and it is easier to get through.

No. Resistance is due to the length, cross-sectional area, and resistivity (which is affected by temperature) of a material. It is not affected by capacitance, inductance, current, or voltage. So adding capacitors to a circuit will have no affect on its resistance.

If you add a resistance in parallel with any one or more resistors in the circuit the total resistance will decrease.

If you put it in series with any resistor the total increases.
