Itcahi would of never gained the mongekyo sharingan because as you may know his original plan was to place all his powers into Sasuke, and give his own eyes to Sasuke. But i imagine if he gained the eternal mongekyo sharingan he would have some of sasuke's powers and he would be able to see the light clearly.

Ok well Itachi gave naruto power but DID NOT give him the sharingan to him. it would be impossible to give it to him with out a eye transplant. and itachi acted as if he was evil. he was good the entire time! he didnt want sasuke to know so he acted as if he wanted his eye so sasuke would fight back with full power. itachi got sasuke to use almost all chakra so orichimaru would come out and itachi could finish him off. itachi then used all chakra of his own so he would die. his death caused sasukes sharingan to transform into his (enternal) mangekyou sharingan. You can skip it all and just read this -- NO NARUTO DOES NOT HAVE SHARINGAN and yes because of Itachi's suicide sasuke got his eternal sharingan.
