I attended Ryokan. The largest complaint I have is that student's possessed such a disparity in ability level that the classes were often taught to cater to the lower levels. It frustrated me to no end.

Psychology is psychology. Ryokan had a good library when I was there, and the faculty, for the most part, were very qualified and competent. This issue I have with Ryokan is that they want to do things "their way." While "their way" is certainly good, as evidenced by their moderate pass rates, which are higher than some APA and RA schools (45% or so) they all but abandon any care for Alumni and those that do not live in CA. They were very eager to take my money, but after I graduated I was a "bother" and invisible for some help I needed.

Every school has issues, APA accredited schools create psychologists that violate ethical codes, break laws, and forfeit licensure due to failure of the EPPP etc. A psychologists is much more than just the accreditation they boast. It seems the predictor variable accreditation is not a perfect, or even a close facsimile, to the criterion variable of a "good psychologist."It just seems everyone thinks that way, and therefore APA and RA are winners by default. However, it just seems a bit pharasistic to blindly assume accreditation is the only way to measure the quality of a psychologist.

I saw some research that CA state approved schools hover around 1/3 EPPP pass rates. RA/APA are 2/3. Now, I am no math genius coming from a State approved school and all sarcasm is a higher order process) .....but it seems to me that while RA/APA is superior in pass rates, they too are flawed in that not all of their students pass.

Sounds like to me that some APA/RA students may not deserve the paper their degree is printed on, and some lowly State Approved school students are a bit more competent than given credit for.

Twelve of my friends and I were accepted at Ryokan ABD. The school we were attending did not facilitate the dissertation in a timely and professional manner, so we searched for another school. Ryokan created a custom program for us based on what areas they felt our transcripts were in need of. They could not graduate us without having us in attendance. So, we did another year with Ryokan after completing our class work elsewhere.

The professors and instruction we received were of the highest quality. The efficient and professional manner they processed our class work was very good. Every time I needed help or had questions, they responded. My dissertation advisor was supportive and had a very fast turn around time. I graduated, passed state exams and I am licensed. This is what I wanted, this is what I got. The extra money and time were well worth our investment. I am very grateful for the way they got us through what might have been a nightmare. Many schools do not graduate their students in timely fashion, causing many to become discouraged and give up. Earning a doctorate in psychology is a arduous process, many are not up to the necessary committment. Ryokan is a professional, efficient graduate program with high academic standards and fantastic instructors. I am more than happy to be an alumuni.

Are cheap tires probably faulty?

It depends on how good of a reputation this body shop has. Obviously if it has a good reputation, they wouldn't be selling faulty tires. Before you buy, you should probably ask questions to the employees there. They might say that the tires are fine and they just happen to be at a reasonable price.

No, a reputation is not a valid reason for a traffic stop. Traffic stops should be based on observable behavior or evidence of a traffic violation. A person's reputation alone does not provide reasonable suspicion for a stop.
