Yes, actually. Anime is a lot more popular in Germany that you would think. They even show it on TV, and have their own little manga section in the bookstores, just like America. There are some original German mangas and graphic novels. I remember buying one called Krähen, which was written and drawn by two people from Berlin. Pretty good stuff, actually.
