It worked for me about 10 years ago. I researched lice life cycle and used treatment length appropriate, including a little extra for any little critters possibly hiding. I applied the crisco on my entire head and hair. Watched a couple of TV programs and then combed crisco out of my hair removing as much as possible. Then I shampooed. Did this daily. Combing out first treatment resulted in finding 26 lice and up to that point didn't even know I had them. When I first discovered one, I began treatment immediately. BTW Used generic vegetable shortening. Hope this helps

∙ 12y agoThe best way to get rid of lice is using the lice shampoo that you can get at a local store. If the shampoo is out of budget for you, you can probably just go to the doctor and ask them if they have any remedies or something that is cheaper.
