OF COURSE , all phones HAVE to have a sim card to work because it must store your number and any information you put on the phone. i think it may work without one , BUT i dont think you can save contacts or even get calls.

∙ 13y agothe sim card just holds network information not phone information so yes you can transfer your sim card without any problems i had a sim card from about 3 years ago and i just bought a iPhone 3GS and it works fine in it
