There is no difference. In the beginning some employers were sceptical, however the online degree has earned its credibility with more and more individuals taking advantage of its accommodating structure.

Whether online or on campus, a degree is a degree as long as the college or university has the appropriate accreditation.

The degree itself can make you an eligible candidate for a position, however, the rest is up to you. Study and learn the techniques of interviewing well.

I don't mean to preach in any way, but please recognize that a degree of any kind and a "good job" aren't necessarily connected. They certainly can be if you decide to study something that you really enjoy - something that you'll still like to do when you're having a terrible case of the Mondays and you don't get along with your co-workers. Every job has its unique challenges and they're almost always personal instead of a question of competency, so taking time to "find yourself" is every bit as valuable as a college experience if actively learned from.

Anyway, now that the sermonizing is done, always look for accredited programs, preferably at an online branch of a physical University. At this point, the more like traditional college your degree looks, the better, although that's rapidly changing.

I've also left a link below to a site with tons of information about exactly the topic you want to explore.

There's no difference as long as you are taking the degree from a regionally accredited college or university. In fact there is no mention of whether the degree was taken online or ground approach, on the diploma, or transcript. The only way someone would know, is if you volunteered that information. As I said, just make sure you are taking the degree from an institution that has a regional accreditation. There are many excellent colleges as universities that offer degrees online today. I would not let that be a consideration. I have worked in higher education for 26 years, so this is not coming from someone with little or no experience in the field. Many of my colleagues have taken degrees online and have been very satisfied, and successful within the job market. Remember, regional accreditation.

Absolutely! There is no difference in terms of validity. In fact, there is no mention that the degree was taken online. The only way someone would know, is if you volunteered the information. Just make sure the college or university of choice has a regional accreditation. With a regional accreditation, you can be assured the course work and degree you complete will be recognized by all other colleges and universities as well as employers. Lastly, you must be very disciplined in your study habits, when taking an online program of study. You cannot be a procrastinator.

Online certificates can help you get a job, if they are from accredited sources. Online certificates from uncertain sources may not be of any help when trying to get a job.

Yes. An ever growing portion of the workforce is seeing degrees that come from online colleges. Employers are slowly becoming more and more accustomed to this change.
