you can try considering lucid dreaming. that's when u become aware that you are dreaming while the dream is going on. In lucid dreams you can control anything!
In order to do that, you watch a video of something that you really wish you could do, then see it over and over. Then you go to bed. Close your eyes and try your best to imagine the scenes and characters you saw from the movie, including trying to remember how their voices sound. That will help A LOT.
Make sure there is no music playing or loud noises around because that will disrupt your thinking. Keep doing this until you fall asleep. Don't worry if it seems to take forever to actually go to sleep. The longer it takes, the more the details "sink in". I've done this quite a few times and it worked every time for me.
