No. Vampires show up when it is necessary for them to do so. They aren't always out to kill. Sometimes they go to movies, dance parties, university classes, public performances, etc.

In my opinion the sun doesn't kill vampires. I suppose the moon wouldn't kill them as it is covering up the sun - although it is reflected off it - and also because it isn't sunny as its dark during the night.

Vampires don't mind mirrors actually. They are afraid of crosses but not mirrors. The connection between mirrors and vampires is that vampires can't be seen in mirrors. I suppose if mirrors did bother a vampire it would be because perhaps they are tortured by the fact that they can never be human again, and not being able to see their reflection would be a reminder of this.
