Have scanned world literature and find no references to cases or studies in which cancer was caused or spread by ultrasound, Still it is widely believed that there may be a connection. I cannot find the basis for this in empirical reports of any kind.

No. Ultrasound is used to guide the biopsy needles however. It is only by the biopsy that cancer can be detected. Recent advances are showing progress with a urine sample showing the presence of cancer. But this technique is not yet widely available.
