No, it is highly unlikely that the people of Iran want to go to war because as a people, Iranians know and understand war and have expressed their lack of desire to return to war or fighting. These are people who do not want outside countries imposing their beliefs upon them, they prefer to preserve their way of life, customs and traditions yet, have become remarkably modern in some areas. Iran has a future that it is evolving toward at its own pace and would prefer to do so unhindered. Their land is holy to them, history shows just how holy when you try to take it. China, US, Russia, India and Pakistan have Nuclear Weapons, yet just the idea of Iran making this same step seems to frighten Westerners as though it were some challenge of war. Iran has only ever really had problems with Iraq in the last 50 years, much of that was due to Saddam Hussein. They are a peaceful, religious people who deserve to be observed and understood before they are prejudged.
NO. This question concerns the people of Iran, not the government. The Iranian people are actually incredibly secular for a Middle Eastern country, incredibly modern, and incredibly warm people. The truest irony of Iran is that if only their constitution could be amended to remove the Ayatollahs and create a judiciary similar to other civil law countries (like France), Iran would be an instant peaceful democracy. There is civil society, people like to party, there is relatively high level of infrastructure and education, and, most importantly, critical thinking skills throughout the country. Unfortunately, the Iranian government prevents its citizens from really having a chance to improve the country. The Ayatollahs are very conservative and are self-appointed. All political candidates for the Majlis (Parliament) and the Executive need to be approved by the Ayatollahs and no political action can happen without the Ayatollahs' say so.
However, I disagree with some other views concerning the Iranian governmental position, since this is a government that has repeatedly argued that it sees Israel as belonging in the dustbin of history and has supported militant groups with that express aim (as their central tenet). This is also a government that connects atomic bombs to the apocalypse, which it argues will provide the Return of the Mahdi and blessings for all true Shiite Muslim believers. At minimum, the Iranian government is neutral on the premise of going to war with certain countries (like Israel). The Iranian government is also a clear supporter of terrorism, giving funds to noted terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, Asa'eb al-Haqq, and Jaysh al-Mahdi.
Some did...
Iran and Iraq went for war during September 1980 to August 1988, making it the longest conventional war of the 20th century.
People didn't want to go to war because they didn't want to die.
in 1991 during the first gulf war.
because they were cowards
What purpose would that serve.
just go to iran and see you lazy people jeez what has this world turned into?
jhg
Places like Iran are dangerous for most western people. He will go to countries where he can be safe. You a fan? Your gone need to go to him.
People go to the World War II memorial to remember US military who fought in that war. Some go to because it is part of our history.
No people do not get drafted, the people who want to go fight in the war get to do so because they might have a reason to fight
Nearly any man drafted for the military does not want to go. If he did want to go into the military, he would have enlisted (volunteered) to begin with.
