as long as the led is wired mesh. If it is glass, it will suffocate
Yes it is perfect size my Syrian hamster uses one
Syrian hamsters are the largest of the hamsters. Keep that in mind when purchasing the cage be it plastic, wire or glass. All other small animals such as mice and geribils may fit in a hamster cage .It really depends on the type of cage you have and are planning to buy.
Approximately 10-15% oxygen is left in expelled air. it's plenty enough for mouth to mouth ventilation.
its a bad idea if you are not copable enough to handel them mmmm dont, just to be safe because it is possible that one may eat the other.
As soon as they are mature enough to be weaned off of their mothers milk they are mature enough to be sexually mature. At about 21 days old a Syrian hamster can begin having other babies. So if you have a cage full of hamsters that would be the time to separate them into their own cages.
If you are a beginner, consider adopting dwarf or Syrian hamsters. They are the easiest to take care of and they are quite cute ! If you have taken care of a hamster before, and you are responsible, you can accept the challenge of taking care of a fancy hamster. A fancy hamster has long fur and you need to comb it every other day and occasionally cut it's hair! If you feel responsible enough, you can take care of any breed of hamster.
The hamster breed that is best with children is probably a golden bear hamster. Sometimes called the "Teddy Bear Hamster." You should Google Search Images of the Golden Bear Hamster.
a hamster will get wet tail from stress or because it is unhappy or because your hamster does not have enough space to play in :)
enough so the hamster can hide under it.
Get a vet to see the poor hamster if you aren't sure what to do exactly. But prior to to that, make sure you separate it from other hamsters (if you have more than one).Provide enough water. Clean its cage. Also check out,
It depends on what kind of hamster you get; a dwarf hamster is smaller than a syrian or teddy bear hamster so a starter home might work for them but still do some research on the breed before you buy the cage. Also make sure the bars on the cage are small enough that the hamster can't squeeze out! If he/she can get their head out the rest will easily follow(unless your hamster is really fat which isn't good). Starter homes are NOT okay for syrians, they are too small and a hamster with too little room can die!! :( Wouldn't want that!! Hope this helps <3
Hamsters can get pregnant again right after they give birth to babies...BUT it is best to wait atleast 6 weeks after they give birth so the mom can be strong enough to be pregnant again and it wont place her in danger. Plus that 6 wks is time to get the babies weened from mom... it would place too much stress if shes still nursing babies and has more babies before last liter is weened from her.
