narcissist: a person who admires him/herself excessively. If the above definition fits, then I would say that the person you are talking about - and I must insist that 'excessively' is a judgment call - is so self-involved that he/she rarely misses other people. But I must insert here that a lay diagnosis always raises suspicions. It sometimes is no more than a putdown. For all of us to through a narcissistic stage when we sit on our mother's lap and want to be held and fed. Yes, it is true, that sometimes mothers do not let go of their child. "Do narcissists miss other people?" Of course, they do. But they seldom have the tools to breach their hangup.

They end up destroying all friendships sooner or later, leaving behind a trail of trampled feelings and evaded questions.

Intimacy and transparency are pre-requisites of true friendship, both of which the Narcissist is incapable of.

No they do not miss their victims, they view you as an object with an expiration date. They have no feelings or empathy for anyone, so the answer is definitely no, more than likely they are off to the next victim.
