It is just like a regular shot, however people have said that afterwords your arm aches more than usual. Some people have also had other effects like the chills; feeling like they had a touch of the flu, but it's different for every person

Some do but only for a second or two when the needle and vaccine go in the muscle. Later, you may get a mild reaction that makes the area of the injection sore for a day or two. Use the arm (if that is where they gave it) as you normally would and it will help the soreness go away faster.

Do you need Swine Flu jab every year?

No, only one time should provide immunity for life. However, in the US for the 2010-2011 flu season, the vaccine for swine flu H1N1/09 is included in the "regular" flu vaccinations. If you had it last year, it won't hurt to have it again.

Does the routine flu jab prevent Swine Flu?

No, vaccination for the seasonal flu will not protect you from the H1N1 (swine) flu. ------------------------- Yes. In the 2010-2011 flu season in the US, the seasonal flu vaccine does contain the H1N1/09 swine flu vaccine along with two other flu viruses. There is no need to get a second flu shot this year like in the 2009-2010 flu season. It won't hurt to get it again if you got it last year or if you had the flu last year. It may even help, especially if you thought you had the H1N1 flu but it was not confirmed to have been that exact type of flu with lab testing at a special lab.

I had Swine Flu jab December 2009 when pregnant am i still covered?

depends if you got the full regimen, or only one dose. The chances of dying from worry about swine flu is much greater than actually dying from it.

Will the swine flu vaccine hurt a ten year old?

If you mean will the injection of a flu shot/jab hurt, then no more than any injection, but it might hurt a little just for a short time during the injection. If you mean will the vaccine be dangerous for a ten year old, it has been proven to be one of the safest vaccines even for infants and the elderly over decades of use.

What color is the Swine Flu?

The swine flu is PURPLE. :]

How do you know if you have had Swine Flu?

Unless you were tested when you were ill, there is really no way to know for sure which type of flu you may have had. If you were not tested at the time, to be sure you have immunity to the swine flu, it is advised that you get a vaccination. It will not hurt you if you already had the same flu, and it can prevent another illness if the flu you had was a different strain. For best protection from the flu during the 2009-2010 flu season, get both a swine flu vaccination and a seasonal flu vaccination.

Who first had Swine Flu?
