im not sure but i no they can get fleas if you have another animal like a cat in the family who has fleas, so if you do you should keep them away from each other. From what i no i say they can get lice if someone has them and comes near the hamster!

This is only based on my own experience but I think it is similar! I think its because both fur is very fine. I'm allergic to cat fur and also hamster fur so it may be similar, however don't treat them in the same way! :)
