This depends on a number of factors: * how old the can is * how long the can has been opened * whether or not there is anything else in the fridge that could contaminate the peaches It is always best to transfer the peaches into another sealed container, rather than leave them in the tin.

peaches are canned in syrup, sugar helps preserve the peaches longer so actually they are good for about 6 yrs after the expiration date..that date is just a legal manufactures protection..not a real date that a food expires, we waste so much food by relying on this date!

if the peaches are ripe, then put them in the fridge. If not, you need them to ripen first.
