In the egg there is a cord that attaches the developing embryo to the yolk sac. When the bird hatches, there is a residual scar where the cord used to be. While the bird is a nestling, you can still see what would be the avian equivalent of a belly button. However, as the bird develops, that area becomes more compact and in an adult bird there is virtually nothing to be seen of what once was the scar. So technically baby birds have belly buttons, but unlike the belly buttons of humans, these go away as they grow up.

Bats are mammals, just like you and I. As a baby bat grows within its mother, it is fed with an umbilical cord, just like human babies. The belly button is where this cord was attached to the baby (just like you!). Your pet cat or dog also has a belly button!

Not all mammals have belly buttons. Placental (or eutherian) mammals have belly buttons. They nourish their fetuses by a placenta that is connected to the umbilical cord. Non-placental mammals do not have belly buttons - this group of mammals includes monotremes (metatherian mammals), which lay eggs, and marsupials (prototherian mammals), which nurture their young in a pouch.

No, flamingos are birds, therefore, they lay eggs. The only reason humans have belly buttons is because that was where the umbilical cord was attached. Seeing as eggs aren't attached by an umbilical cord, they don't have belly buttons.

Yes, all placental mammals have belly buttons. This means as they were a growing fetus, they were physically attached to a placenta.

If the animal has an umbilical cord at birth as bears do, then they must. I would think all mammals do, even whales and bats.
