No. It is purely an aesthetic choice. It is a myth that black bottom pools are warmer. Don't argue with me, I have proved this several times. Put a black plate and a white plate in the bottom of a pool and check it a few hours later to see if there is any temp difference....there won't be. Water absorbs all the heat in the first 12 inches.

∙ 12y agoInteresting thought! Having a black colored pool floor would certainly pick up heat if the sun can shine directly on it but it will radiate heat away quickly when the pool is shaded. Perhaps putting a solar pool cover on the pool when it is shaded or at night would help trap the heat a black pool floor absorbs. Not sure but certainly an interesting concept!

If so let the pool settle for a day or two until all of the clarifier and contaminant has settled to the bottom then turn the filter to waste and gently vacuum the cloudy material on the bottom of the pool to waste do not put floculant through the filtration vac it to waste.
