I have had depression for years and I'm currently 17. I have been the the top sets for all of my subjects and was previously aimed from all A's in my GCSE's. Due to my depression I could not focus, was easily distracted and had no motivation to do work. Depression has a massive affect in learning in school simply because if a teenager or child is sad they will almost certainly not learn in lessons. Teachers should be more aware of depression in school.
