The United Methodist Church has always been a stauch ally of Israel. Over
the past few years, the church has taken a more critical tone towards Israel over its handling of the Palestinian crisis. The United Methodist Church has
always taken a lead role in advocating peace and justice issues. The church has taken a firm stand that advocates a Palestinian State. The UMC, along with
other mainline Protestant denominations, will always be a friend of Israel but
when Israel does something that is unwarranted, they will be justifiably criticized.
The United Methodist Church has not officially denounced Israel as a whole. However, the church has expressed concerns about aspects of Israel's policies and actions, particularly related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The church has called for peace, justice, and human rights for all parties involved.
