Some obscure items like the Dwarf Moon, which figured in Around the Moon ( part ll or Verne"s moon saga)reflect this quest for accurate, or at least plausible knowledge. Verne theorized at some ancient time there was life on the moon, but otherwise did not scout the idea of extraterrestrial life in his novels.
