Janet graduated from Valley Professional High School, a school for kids involved in the entertainment industry and had plans on gong to college. Janet said in the October/November 2006 issue of Giant magazine "I never really wanted to sing. I wanted to go to college and study business law and just be an actress and support my way through school doing that. But my father always said you can make more money as a singer." and the rest is history

Graduated from Valley Professional School, an institution where most children were entertainers or actors. Class of 1984. There was actually a group of kids that were forced bussed to our school from LA. These children were star struck and acted as if they had never seen a star before. They use to follow her around the school and ask her questions like when are you going to introduce me to your brothers(The Jacksons). The school officials eventually had to take Janet out of her classes early and walk her to her next class so that the children would not approach her. There was this one girl name Lanette that use to wait out in front of the school when Janet was dropped off just to befriend her. I think they became good friends after that and Janet was then able to walk around the school and not be bothered by anyone.
