The World War II leaders, Churchill and Hitler, were similar in being superb orators, heads of powerful nations, and very charismatic persons. The great difference between the two was that Hitler was intent on world-domination through military aggression and any other means possible, while Churchill was committed to stopping him and the totalitarian state (Germany) which he ruled as dictator.
The fact that Hitler raised taxes on the German people while he made a campaign promise saying he'd do the opposite. After he invaded and started the Holocaust, the taxes were not lowered but raised. The Germans caught onto how Hitler never kept his promise.
