Nazi Germany's occupation of Denmark began with Operation Weserübung 9 April 1940, and lasted until German forces withdrew at the end of World War II following their surrender to the Allies on 5 May 1945. Contrary to the situation in other countries under German occupation, most Danish institutions continued to function relatively normally until 1943. Both the Danish government and King remained in the country in an uneasy relationship between a democratic and a totalitarian system until German authorities dissolved the government following a wave of strikes and sabotage wikipedia

The persecution of Jews continued. It was mainly used for a place for Hitler to produce his heavy water. Heavy water is needed for the production of atomic weapons. Denmark was a place of key resistance in the Nazi party, and continued to help the Allied cause, even during WWII.

Denmark was invaded in May 1940 by Germany. It only took a few days to occupy the entire country. The Danish put up weak resistance. Copenhagen was saved from aerial bombardment from the Luftwaffe. The Danish were the least resistant of all the occupied countries during World War II. There were very few Jews in Denmark compared to other countries like Poland and the Soviet Union. Several thousand Danes volunteered to fight for Germany and enlisted in the Waffen SS for foreign nationals. They and the Dutch, Norwegians, French and Belgians, fought fanatically for the Third Reich, especially on the Eastern Front and the Battle of Berlin. These volunteers knew that if they were ever captured by the Russians they would either be killed outright or sent to Siberian POW camps. If they returned to their home countries, they would be rightfully accussed of being traitors and be executed. Most chose death in combat then to face the other reality!

No, they were occupied but they didn't deport much Jews, less than 1% of the Denmark Jewish population.

The Germans were anxious not to antagonise the Danes as they saw many advantages to alliance with them. Throughout the early part of the war they made many efforts to pull the Danish Navy in particular into their side. This ended only when the Danes scuttled most of their navy in 1943.

Did the Nazis won World War 2?

Which groups in Germany society were the biggest supports of the Nazis?

The Nazis (NSDAP) became a broadly based party with support in most groups of society. It used to be said that support for the Nazis was particularly strong among the lower middle classes (white collar works). This may be true, but doesn't not account for the party's popularity from 1930 onwards. For example, support was also very strong indeed in the medical (yes, medical) profession! It is easier to say which groups were least likely to support the Nazis: * Jews * Workers oganized in left-wing unions * Communists * Social Democrats * Liberals On the whole, it appears that Roman Catholics were less keen than Protestants on the Nazis. Support for the Nazis was strong among: * Agricultural workers * Craftsmen and workers in small businesses * White collar workers * More generally, in particularly depressed areas of Germany, such as East Prussia, Pommerania, Mecklenburg, much of Brandenburg, Thuringia, Oldenburg, Brunswick and parts of the province of Hanover.
