Could someone please tell you what this could be you discovered a firm grape sized lump on the side of your neck about two and a half inches below your right ear and one half inch back?

It is most likely just a swollen lymph node, especially if you are or have recently benn sick, even with a simple cold. If it is there for more than a few weeks, you should probably visit your doctor, as there is a possibility that it is lymphatic cancer.
