Fronteras don't have clutch cables. They are hydraulic, so check you have plenty of fluid in the reservoir. Then check the spring on the pedal hasn't broken or come off.
If all is ok, bleed the system.
It could also be possible that the master cylinder has stuck.

The raised centre faces the clutch cover mate. Flatter surface to the flywheel. The plate is usually marked "front" though.
I had same problem so I changed clutch, no diference. found the plate the clutch pedal conects to had pulled away from bulkhead. rewelded to bulkhead and clutch was fine.
Sounds like you need a new clutch. Or at the very least the clutch pedal free play needs adjustment.

Check the bulkhead hasn't burst where the pedal box is mounted. Common fault.

To remove the clutch the vehicle would need suspending to access better. After it as been lifted the motor mount and clutch can be removed. Replace and return parts.
