The Vitamin A in a vitamin A capsule consists of the actual oily vitamin plus some additional oil to bring it to the strength stated on the bottle. It is fine to use it on your face, as there are many products made as ointments or liquids that contain Vitamin A already. Examples are cod liver oil or Vitamin A and D ointment.
