There are multiple converters and cables that are compatible with both HDMI and VGA, which is some sort of an adapter to an adapter. I do not know how well these products work together.
Unfortunately VGA to HDMI cables are kind of a scam. The problem is VGA is an analog signal and HDMI is a digital signal. A cable is not capable of converting something from analog to digital or the other way around. In order to connect between a VGA and an HDMI connection you must use an active converter that will convert from one format to another. These converters are going to be considerably more expensive than just a cable, but they'll actually get the job done. These converters run between $60-$300+ depending on the capabilities of the converter.
The 945 should be able to utilize a VGA to HDMI converter, no problem.
DVI and HDMI cables are similar and compatible for digital video signals. HDMI also carries audio while DVI does not. If a DVI cable, connector or adapter is used anywhere in the signal path, the audio signal will be lost. As many computers have a DVI output and most televisions have HDMI inputs, it is common to find at least one HDMI input on a television with a linked analog audio input. It is usually a 3.5mm jack socket near the HDMI connector. To make use of it, the television's menu setting allows either HDMI or analog audio to be selected. Consult your television user manual for full details.
By RGB, we can assume that this is a VGA port that carries RGB analog signals. HDMI is a fully digital interface so to use this input, a VGA to HDMI converter is required. They are available on line and at some computer and electronics stores and should cost in the region of $30 - $50.
If your receiver has an HDMI input, use that. If it doesn't, then you will have to use analog or digital audio connectors to plug it in.
Use an adapter which would connect to the monitor and PS4. Old monitors usually have a VGA port. Look for a HDMI to VGA cable
Your iPad does not have HDMI built in. If you own an Apple HDMI adapter, you can use an HDMI cable up to 50ft.
There are Component Video, VGA and HDMI adapters for the dock connector of the iPad. Buy the adapter that will work with your TV. Note that only the HDMI cable will also send audio, so you will need to connect the iPad's headphone jack to external speakers or an audio input if you want better sound.
Use the DVI port. You can use a dvi cable, vga cable (using the dvi adapter that came with your computer), or a DVI to HDMI cable. Just plug the cable into the computer and the tv and your Mac will do the rest.
No. HDMI to DVI uses a DVI-D or DVI-I connection and is digital, but a DVI to VGA uses a DVI-I or DVI-A and is analog. The best way to connect a PS3 to a projector is to see if the projector support component video through the VGA input using a VGA to component pigtail adapter. The projector might have even come with one. You then need to purchase a PS3 component video cable. This will allow resolutions up to 1080i (if your projector support it).
no
You don't use the Apple USB cable. This is for syncing with a computer. You need to purchase an iPad HDMI or VGA adapter, and connect it with those cables.
use an hdmi cable and you should be able to find an hdmi to dvi adapter for about $30.
When you use a VGA cable coming out of the monitor, the monitor is giving out an analog signal through the VGA connection. For the monitor to give out a digital signal, you need a DVI or HDMI cable. The VGA to HDMI cord just converts the analog signal into a digital signal so it's not completely useless, however the quality will not be as good as an HDMI to HDMI or DVI to DVI or HDMI to DVI
See if you have only VGA port on the ASUS Monitor then you need to plugin the VGA part of HDMI to VGA in Asus Monitor and then plug the other part that is HDMI in your Macbook pro. There might be a problem with you that both Asus monitor and the HDMI to VGA cable have same VGA Plugs,Like both of them are female VGA or both of them are Male VGA hence they cannot be connected together. For that problem you need to have one more cable of the opposite character to that of your HDMI to VGA and your monitor's VGA port to establish a connection between the Monitor and Macbook pro using the cable you already have. Like if you have female VGA on your monitor and on your existing cable then you need to buy male to male VGA and vice versa you have to buy female to female VGA for male ports on monitor and cable you already have. If you feel that there is some other problem than that then you can message me directly and i will guide you accordingly.
Online retailers such as Amazon, eBay, and Dell carry HDMI to VGA adapters. One might also check retail stores such as Walmart, Future Shop, or London Drugs.
The first thing you need is to check your connections cable, you'll need a VGA, DVI or HDMI cable to transmit the signal from your laptop to the monitor. (You can use the cable from the desktop PC) VGA is usually a blue cable, DVI is white, but looks a bit like VGA, and HDMI is a small black cable (sometimes golden in the end). Remember: HDMI also allow sound transfer. When you know which cable you're using, then you should just plug it in the computer when you can see your desktop, then in the monitor, and it will work. If the cable can't be plugged in, you'll need an adapter. You can find pictures of the cables/adapters by searching on Google images
