Hey Niki==It is possible but a very hard job requiring special jigs to hold the engine and a lift is nice. I wouldn't try it if I were you. You can get a shop manual on your car from the parts store if you care to see what all is required. GoodluckJoe

Does a dealer have to change the transmission fluid in a Chevy cavalier or can you do it yourself?

If you want to do it yourself, go to this site. It has step by step information on how to change your transmission fluid if you have an automatic transmission without a dipstick. http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=11&i=88582&t=88570#88582 If you are not comfortable with changing your fluid yourself, go to a dealership

What would cause a 2000 Chevy Cavalier with an automatic transmission to not change gears very quickly?

Just a guess but your problem may be with the transmission filter. I recently changed mine on a 2001 Cavalier (64,900 miles) and found it runs much cooler and better. The transmission filter and gasket cost about $16.00 plus transmission fluid (4 1/2 quarts on my 3 speed automatic). If you have a socket set you can do this yourself and save about $50 from what a reasonably priced shop will charge.

What is the difference between manual and automatic auto transmissions?

A manual transmission on a car is one that you control yourself via a stick shift. An automatic transmission is one that the car controls, based on your speed and incline.

What cost more a automatic or standard car?

If by standard you mean manual (one you shift yourself), it would be automatic. It is cheper for the car manufacturer to make manual transmission than automatic. However, since automatic cars have become so prominent many manufacturers don't charge extra for an automatic transmission.

How do you put transmission oil in a 1992 Chevy Cavalier?

I assume you are referring to a manual transmission as you said oil. The transmission lube is added on the upper side of the transmission under the car. There you will find a plug. Why are you adding lube? If you wish to change it, I suggest you take it to a garage with a lift and the proper lube equipment. Save yourself the hassel, of messing with this, as you will need a hand pump to add lube. Now, if you are talking about an Automatic Transmission, you add ATF the same place you check it.

Can you change your automatic transmission to a tiptronic or a manual how much would it cost for a 2001 Toyota celica?

Yes, you can change your automatic transmission to a Tiptronic or manual transmission in a 2001 Toyota Celica. The cost will vary depending on the type of transmission and whether or not you do the work yourself. To have the transfer done, it could cost up to about $8000 or even a little more. Doing it yourself would probably cost under $5000.

How to replace a 2006 cavalier control arm bushing?

First, there is no Chevrolet Cavalier 2006, they stop selling it in 2005 because they replace it by the Chevrolet Cobalt. Anyway, just buy a Haynes "do-it-yourself" repair manual in any large store like Wal-Mart, it cost like 20$ and it's very easy to follow.
