Most XP drivers from what I've seen so far work great in Windows 7. XP drivers for the most part work much better in Windows 7 than under Vista. Oddly, even older signed XP drivers work fine in Windows 7 without driver signing warnings.
If you mean will XP work on a 7 compatible computer, the answer is most often yes.
If you mean can a XP program run on Windows 7, then mostly but occasionally not. In this case you can run in compatibility mode. If this doesn't work then you could dual boot XP on your computer.
If you mean something else, edit your question.
In what regard? I assume you mean in a network?
At home we have a Vista 64bit, XP SP2 and brand new Windows 7 system running on one wireless network. No issues with sharing of files, LAN gaming, ... everything runs smoothly.
However, we noticed that you achieve the best results when setting up the network on the Vista machine. Probably because it's in between of XP and 7.
But as far as I can answer your question, yes they are compatible.
although windows 7 is more powerful, has a higher marketing value, and tends to preferred by users it is possible to replace as long as you have the windows 7 and XP disks.
RECCOMENDATION: go to best buy and get someone from geek squad to do it, because if you make a mistake you could damage your computer
You don't run Operating Systems on other Operating Systems, unless you mean virtually, as in with VMware Workstation.
Yes,
Windows 7 is even compatible with software which was designed to run on Windows 95.
As long as the computer meets the system requirements for Windows 7, and you are able to locate drivers for all of your hardware, yes.
Windows 7 will be installed as a separate operating system. So you can choose, on startup what one you want to use
Depends on the game and what its requirements.
