Yes on the insurance part - I do that for my kids. Registration can only be done whom ever is to be the registered owner. Could possibly be done with a Power of Attorney document, but you would need to consult legal counsel for that. If there is a lienholder, they become the legal owner until the auto loan is paid off in full.
