However, all current Mac models (as of October 2008) will allow Windows to be installed via Boot Camp, VMWare Fusion, or Parallels Desktop for Mac. If Windows is installed on the computer, then it is possible to run Windows Movie Maker on Apple branded hardware.

∙ 14y agoYes, you can play a movie created on Windows Movie Maker on a Mac. However, the movie/video format has to be Quicktime (.mov, .mp4) format which a Mac uses.
Windows Movie Maker publishes/finishes video in one of the following formats: .asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv.
Since Mac (customarily) uses Quicktime (.mov, .mp4) formats, which are not generated by Windows Movie Maker, the files will likely need to be converted.

∙ 10y agoYou cannot install Windows Movie Maker software on a Macintosh computer. You have to use software specific to a Mac. Apple makes a version they call iMovie that you can try.
