Smoothies is a general term. They are made with many different combinations of ingredients. Some can be very high calorie even when made with real fruit.

To know if you can loose weight by drinking smoothies, you have to know the calorie content of the smoothie you are consuming added to the total calorie count you've consumed that day and if the total is within the range of calorie consumption for weight loss in your case.

In other words, there is no way to know unless you do some homework. Get to know your smoothies!

Well, you can't loose weight by eating something i can tell you that but i know something that could help you out

here is what you need:

A blender

Organic fruits (nice and heavy the heavier the juicier)

(If you are a person who likes sweet but no weight then use sugar free like Splenda i prefer real sugar though)

And 2 or three ice cubes

Put the fruit, (sugar), and ice cubes in the blender

and you have a perfect smoothie tasty, low fat, and less calories then other smoothies, and fresh too!

If you replaced a meal with a low calorie, high protein smoothie you would lose weight as long as you were actually using it as a 'replacement' and not snacking on other foods though out the day that you wouldn't normally eat because you were hungry from not having a meal.
