Yes, my cat is always getting into things and needing a bath. She absolutely hates it, but she puts up with it. They have sensitive systems and skin. The first time I washed my cat I used my dogs shampoo. She got very ill. It turned out the tea tree oil that helps my dogs skin was toxic to the cat. Be sure to pick up a shampoo made just for cats from the pet store to avoid any problems like that.
Ask your vet. We use a dog flea/tick shampoo on our cat and she has no ill effects from it. She's a very hardy domestic shorthair, though. Some breeds are less tolerant to enivronmental factors than others. As long as you THOROUGHLY rinse your cat out, to where no residue is left in the fur, she should do fine.
I put on swimming trunks and went in the tub with a frightened feral we had to bathe a while back--he tolerated that pretty well. He was freak'in out when tried to handle him from outside the tub.
You don't really want to give cats a bath. If it really needs a bath then you can give a cat a bath. It really all depends on the cat. If the cat loves water then you can, if the cat hates water don't give them a bath. They can clean themselves fairly well.
cats don't need baths. they would hate it and they lick themselves clean. there is no point in giving a cat a bath.
Actually you could give your cat a bath if it is dirty enough to need one or if you need to bathe it to help with dander that causes allergy problems. Fair warning, most cats detest water with every ounce of their being so they may get rather aggressive or distressed when they are bathed.
If your cat likes water and shampoo and conditioner
of course you could.
yes but be careful she might be sore
You should never give a cat a bath at any age.
soap
Give it a bath - using cat shampoo.
no it just killed four of my puppies highly recommended not to do it
Unless you have long haired cat who's fir gets matted there is really no reason to give them a bath, they do it themselves they experts at it. NEVER give your pet a bath using any kind of products that are made for people, use a cat shampoo.
Give the dog a bath.
No, but be very careful, does your cat really need a bath, cats normally take really good care of their own grooming, check with your vet first.
it is because cats cant swim and water suffocates them
Shower Hour.
Cats generally keep themselves clean by grooming. However should a cat have a toxic substance on its fur it is important to bath the cat rather than risk the cat ingesting the substance. The person bathing the cat needs to dress so as to avoid being scratched. The cat will feel safer in the bath if there is a rubber mat or towel on the base. After putting four or five inches of water in the bath, hold the cat in the water and wash the cat with a washcloth and animal shampoo.
I've heard it is usually once a week. Unless the kitten got into something dirty, it doesn't need a bath. Kittens/cats clean themselves.
You give it a bath like any other cat, with pet shampoo or just warm water.
