once you have more than three felonies, you are sentenced to jail for 50 years to life, without the option of early parole.

Added: Depending uon the law of your individual state - the above MAY apply - but if your state does not have a '3-time loser' law you will, at the very least, be found to be a "recidivist" (repeat offender) and any subsequent convictions may include an enhanced penalty in addition tothe penalty called for by the statute.

depends on judge, and crimes. i have several repeat felony's and have only done 180 days in my life

If you are referring to a State felony - almost all states have their own separate procedure for expunging criminal offenses, and you will have to research the statutes of the state in which you were convicted in. However in most all cases you will find that VIOLENT Felonies will not qualify for expungement (e.g.: Homicide - Armed Robbery - Felony Sex offenses - Felony Domestic Violence - ANY crime against minors - etc).

For Federal felony offenses, in addition to the information above, it is VERY difficult to get a federal felony expunged. Contact your nearest Office of The US Attorney for information on how to proceed. If you choose to petition for expungement you are advised to seek the help of legal counsel. Expungement is NOT a do-it-yourself project.

3 of them Thats not a very good anwser. Im sorry to say but there is much much more then 3 types of felonies. When you asked "How many types" I am "Assuming" tyhat you ment "WHAT" type there are. There are many types of felony crimes that are considered white collar crimes. These types of felony crimes are non-violent in nature. White collar types of felony crimes are committed in a business or professional setting in hopes of gaining financial advantage at the loss of another. Approximately one in five felony convictions are for white collar types of felony offenses. White collar types of felony crimes can include: kickbacks, tax evasion, insider trading, bribery, embezzlement, identity theft, antitrust, and at least a dozen forms of fraud. Other types of felony offenses which are typically non-violent in nature and intent are property crimes like burglary, larceny (theft of a motor vehicle), fraud, and forgery. About two thirds of all convictions for property types of felony crimes result in incarceration. Drug offenses are also typically non-violent in nature and intent, such as types of felony crimes for drug possession or trafficking. Over ninety percent of persons convicted of drug related types of felony offenses will face incarceration. There are also several types of felony offenses that are violent in nature or intent. Violent types of felony crimes can include murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, rape, sexual assault, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and other acts which pose or inflict bodily injury. Over 175,000 people were convicted of violent types of felony crimes in the state and federal systems in 2000. Violent types of felony convictions account for four percent of all federal convictions compared to more than sixteen percent of state convictions.

You go before the court that found you not guilty of the Felony and request that the arrest be removed from your record.

In some, very rare cases, you may get a felony expunged from your record that you actually committed. If, for example you had sex with a 17 year old, while you were 18 and engaged to that 17 year old some courts may be inclined to expunge this issue. I would not count on that though.

I wish you luck! Stay legal!

It actually depends upon the state whether they permit expungement of felonies. Each state has different allowances. In some states felonies can be expunged. In New York for example, if you were charged with a felony but it was dismissed or you were acquitted, then the record can be sealed but not expunged. If you were convicted of a felony however, it cannot be expunged.

There is no such thing as a 'blanket" expungement of someone's criminal record. You must petition the court INDIVIDUALLY for each felony you wish to have expunged from your record. See the following info: To request the expungement of an offense from your STATE (not Federal) criminal record: You must have either been acquited or served the complete term of your sentence - then submit a petition to the court setting forth good reason(s) why your request should be granted. A judge will review your petition and the circumstances of your case and issue a ruling either granting or denying the request. AN EXPUNGEMENT IS NOT A PARDON! Law enforcement, the courts, and government agencies will always have access to your actual 'true' record. Expungement only removes the record of your offense from being available to the public. FELONS CONVICTED IN STATE COURT OF STATE CRIMES: If your request for expungement is granted and you are a resident of a state which completely or partially restores your "rights" (you will have to do research to learn if this applies to your state), you will still remain subject to any restrictions that your state laws place on you (e.g.- voting rights - elective office - firearms/ammunition possession - etc). CAUTION: FEDERALLY CONVICTED FELONS: It remains a FEDERAL felony for a federally convicted felon to EVER own or possess a firearm. The U.S. Criminal Code, makes the penalty for illegal possession of a firearm a mandatory minimum of fifteen (15) years in prison in some cases (Title 18 U.S.C. sec 924(e)(1). At this time federally convicted felons have no solution to their firearm disqualification. By denying funding for the purpose, Congress has effectively suspended the review of federally convicted felons' petitions for restoration of their firearms privileges.

If you qualify you may apply for a pardon for a crime, when the process is completed the file is then sealed and it no longer appears on your record.

However, the above is applicable only in states that permit expungements of felonies. You would have to check whether your state law permits expungement. It should also be noted, contrary to the information above that "sealing a record" is different from an expungement. An expungement eliminates the record (or specific parts of a record) in its entirety while "sealing a record" keeps the record but limits who is entitled to see it and under what circumstances.

At the moment I have a felony, I am under 18. You are able to get felonies expunged when you turn 18, so i assume if you are above the age of 18 you can file to get your files expunged and see the judge. Not entirely sure though you should talk to your attorney/lawyer.

It really depends on what state you have the felony and what their laws are regarding expungements. Most states seem to permit felony and misdemeanor expungements, however certain states such as New York do not. You would have to research the specific state that you received your felony in.

This would depend in which state the offense was committed in. In most states certain crimes (crimes of violence - against children - sex offenses, etc...) can not be expunged.

Additional: Also, in most states there is no such thing as a "blanket expunction," meaning that one's entire record of multiple offenses cannot be wiped clean. Usually you are only allowed one expungement for one offense per lifetime.
