Answer . Prior to January 2008, you don't need a passport to enter US. However, you are required to have a passport in order to enter US after January 2008, but it does no…t have to be US passport. In case you don't have a passport from your home country, you can apply for re-entry permit.
Can you go to Russia with American passport because your international Russian pasport has expired but you are not a US citizen you are a citizen of Russia and have a green card?
Your question does not make sense. You need to be a US citizen to have an American passport. If you have a green card and an expired Russian passport, contact a Russian embass…y in the US and they should be able to issue you a travel letter or stamp your passport so you may travel back to Russia. But returning to the US is another problem.
Getting US passport is only possible by US citizens and not green card holders.
No as a green card holder already its mandatory to always have your green card handy. In case you have lost it you can get a replacement using the Form I-90. In case the green …card was stolen you need to attach a police report along while filing the form for replacement of green card.
No, you have to renew your green card, or you will be turned away
If the illegal immigrant entered the country illegally can he get green card if he married to US citizen?
I believe so, but Id hope whoever uses this technique gets blacklisted and hunted down right away No. An illegal immigrant is just that, regardless of whether they marry a US …citizen or not. Marrying a US citizen grants a foreign national the right to a green card, as long as they are either not in the country, or if they have entered the country legally and are currently in a legal visitor status., i.e. their I-94 departure record has not expired. Once the spouse of a citizen has legally applied for a green card, the CBP cannot remove the person from the country when their I-94 expires. In fact, they cannot even travel across the border as crossing the border during the initial application, voids that application and you have to start again
My last name in my passport is maiden married name but in my green card is married name only and I need to travel out of USA soon and will that be a problem?
Get a new passport , showing your married name. As long as you have the documents needed like an authenticated marriage certificate then it wont be a problem
Any country than an American citizen can go to, but only from the US(show the Green Card and passport in destination country) and back to the US or your home country. Just don…'t forget your passport and a Green Card anywhere!
If a person who entered the US legally and does not have a green card yet marries a permanent resident or a green card holder does he or she also get the a green card?
No, you have to wait till your spouse will get US citizenship or if you are working for a company and they ned your skills they can employ an immigration lawyer who can get on…e on for you.
This is from the CBP.gov website.... "Foreign nationals that are lawful permanent residents of the U.S. must present a Permanent Resident Card (" Green Card ", INS Form I…-551), a Reentry Permit (if gone for more than 1 year), or a Returning Resident Visa (if gone for 2 years or more) to reenter the United States. U.S. LPRs are not required by the U.S. to have a passport for travel , although most foreign destinations will require you to have one to enter their country. (LPRs that are out of the U.S. for more than 180 days are subject to new immigrant inspection procedures as per 8 USC 1101.)". So, should be no problem. The foreign country will check your passport, and the US will check your green card.
No. You also need your American passport.
Can your wife apply for US Citizenship if she entered on a tourist visa and stayed longer than her allowed duration because you got married?
You must contact the INS as soon as possible to change the category of her visa if they let you. If they don't, she should leave the country and pay penalty fees for overstayi…ng their visa. After that, you should sponsor her and start immigration process so that she can move to the US.
Maybe, you will need an approved I-601 before the USCIS officercould adjudicade your I-485 ( green card petition)
If some one passport was stolen with their 1-94 which state how the enter the US and is now applying for their green card will they get the green card even if they cannot prove how they cane into the?
It'll be on record in the system somewhere. How efficient they are at retrieving their records is a different matter altogether, but still, it's on record somewhere. If your… passport is missing, you really should contact your representative embassy about getting one ASAP, though.
In most cases, a country's immigration laws only care about your country of citizenship. Having a green card gives you legal permanent residency in the United States, but does… not grant you any special status to enter other countries. You will have to determine what Panama's laws are regarding your country of citizenship, which is the country that issued the passport that you will use to travel.
Should someone with a Canadian passport and a green card entering the US have an airline ticket with their name matching the passport or the green card?
The ticket should match both, since you should have your own name on both of your passport and your green card. Thus, there should be no issue of the name - your name is on al…l three documents. Which raises the question, if you are converned about there being different names on each, why are the names different?
In Green Cards
No, it is not mandatory for green card holders to posses a machine readable passport (as the green card is machine readable).
